Welcome

Welcome to ollyfayers.com. It’s my own website! If you don’t like me, I would suggest that you leave to avoid further irritation. If you believe that I can be tolerated, then feel free to look at my blog. You can always find out who the heck I am if you don’t know already, via the about page. Or, if you’re feeling a little reckless, get in touch with me through the contact page.
Special Features
I run a few special features on this website. They’re really just blog posts which fall into certain categories, but do check them out.
The Trainee Teacher Diaries
This does what is says on the tin. I’m currently a PGCE student, and I thought I’d keep a little log of how it’s going. For reasons that should be apparent, I don’t name schools or people without some kind of permission, but the aim of these diaries is really just to give an idea of what life is like for a trainee teacher.
The Encyclopaedia of Life on Earth
Sometimes life needs a little explaining, and I’m definitely not the man for the job – life is too complicated for that. Nonetheless, there are a few things I pick up on every now and then which might add a little definition to common phrases and happenings on this big ball of rock we call home. May contain sarcasm.
The Travelogue
Ah yes, the Travelogue. Inspired by the nineteenth-century travel journals of Africa and Asia which I used to read during the final year of my degree, my Travelogue is like a badly written version which seems to exclusively cover England.
The film reviews
Well, if you can’t work out the content of a section called Olly’s Film Reviews, you are unlikely to appreciate much on this website anyway. Seek help.
A toast to…
Sometimes I just have to raise a glass to some of the extraordinarily brilliant people I know. This is a small section at the moment, as it’s only recently been created. Think of it as like a MBE or knightship of my world. Only those of the utmost moral standing and integrity will have a glass raised to them.
Complete Bull
What a load of bull. I’ve produced a series of bullish cartoons which really ought to be collated in a book and put in the Waterstones bargain bin after a brief stint in the humour section. Take a look. The theme is quite simple.
